Find your moments of "Trouvaille" in
ITALY
Pizza, Pasta and the Mediterranean Sea – this is Italy.
But Italy also means emerald blue lakes, snow-covered mountain ranges and some of the best hikes all over Europe. This “shoe-shaped” country has everything one can only dream of – no wonder it is still a dream destination for many.
Why Italy
Italy is still the stereotype of the perfect summer vacation at the Mediterranean Sea. It offers picture-perfect summer sceneries – but besides that you will also find yaw-dropping mountain sceneries and some of the most amazing hikes all over Europe.
- Why Italy: Pizza, Pasta, Gelato. Do I need to say more? The Italian kitchen is one of the most loved cuisines of the world – every nation has its own interpretation of it. When traveling to Italy, do not miss to also try the more local and regional dishes such as the Tyrolean kitchen.
- Why South Tyrol: When traveling to the region of South Tyrol, you will find some of the best hikes all over Europe. From easy ones to more demanding hikes – there are many ways to enjoy and experience those awesome landscapes.
- Why Venice: Venice is the Disneyland for adults. It almost appears surreal as soon as you enter the city center with all its
narrow street and canals. Venice convinces surely with its uniqueness, its
architecture, history and with its extraordinary flair.
Moments of Trouvaille
The Dolomites are one of my favorite destinations ever. Visiting those awesome landscapes, experiencing the hospitality and doing those stunning hikes is a whole “Moment of Trouvaille” on it own.
- The hike to the Rifugio Fonda Savio was not one of the most demanding hikes neither it had the best views. But it had the “Rifugio Fonda Savio”-Hut. We had a great stopover at this hut and the hosts absolutely won us over their charming attitude. Also, you will some great local cuisine up here. We definitely plan to return one day and to stay overnight next time.
- We experienced “Moments of Trouvaille” on almost every hike and I can not remember one hike, we we would not recommend. The stunning views, the rough mountain ranges, the deep-blue lakes and the green meadows – those landscapes are right out of an “Heidi” – Episode.
- The perfect road trip destination: make sure to either visit Italy with your own car or rent a car. It gives you so much more, if you have the chance to just go with the flow sometimes and to inhale the beauty of this country by travelling slow.

The best Photo Spots:
Seceda
One of the most stunning and iconic mountain-sceneries can be found at Seceda.

When visiting the „Alpe di siusi” or in german: “Seiser Alm” you can have your very own “Heidi”-Moment.
The Seiser Alm is the largest high-altitude Alpine meadow and the absolute prototype of a place, in which you expect to find this Japanese/German comic character. Green meadows, cows, small wooden huts and horse-drawn carriages make this place stunning and peaceful at the same time. […]
One of the most popular hikes in the Dolomites: Geisler Alm, Villnößtal
Everyone knows the famous small church of St. Johann in Ranui, enthroned on a green meadow and the Gruppo delle Odle in the background. Don’t turn back as soon as you have your picture in front of the baroque chapel, but “go the extra mile” and take a hike along the surrounding alpine meadows. […]

What to see in Venice in one day
“There are two types of cities – all the others and Venice.”
(Henry James)
When first entering Venice, it feels like being thrown into a movie set. The small alleys along the canals make you feel like being in a surreal place – less than in a city, in which actual people live. […]
